Watervale – Watervale Hotel – Spring Equinox Penobscot Farm Tour 4pm and Dinner 6pm. Jared Murray and Warrick Duthy will discuss the application of Permaculture principles at the organic, bio-dynamic Penobscot Farm, home to Nicola Palmer and Warrick Duthy. Enjoy a Watervale Riesling and appetizer during the tour and then a six course Degustation dinner at the Watervale Hotel prepared by Chefs Nicola Palmer and Sheldon Guindon. The menu will feature the whole lamb from nose to tail with ethically grown lambs from Martindale Farm and processed by Menzel’s in Kapunda. Auburn – The Rising Sun Hotel 1pm – 4pm ‘Lamb on the Lawn’ Get together your friends/family or both and come on down for a relaxing afternoon out on the lawn at The Rising Sun Hotel. With the BBQ/Grill going with food options available for everyone by The Rising Sun Hotel’s Head Chef Phil Scarles celebrating some of Clare Valleys finest Lamb by Wunderbar Lamb (Black Springs). Finale – Mintaro – Swoop into The Magpie and Stump for the Festival of the Lamb Finale from 4pm. Located in the heart of Mintaro, this historic hotel will join forces with Reilly’s Wines and the Mintaro Progress Association to celebrate the occasion with the local community. Watervale – Watervale Hotel & Festival of the Lamb Cooking Masterclass. The Watervale Hotel “Cooking School” will be launched with a full day, all-inclusive immersive experience with Chefs Nicola Palmer and Sheldon Guindon beginning at 9am and concluding around 4pm. Showcasing lamb from our local farm partner- Martindale Farm in Mintaro and organic produce from Penobscot Farm. Guests will start at the Watervale Hotel for coffee and morning tea before a lamb portioning and preparation demonstration to create the cuts for roasting. As the lamb is in the wood oven roasting, guests will visit Penobscot Farm for a tour and pick vegetables and salad for their lunch.
This will be followed by a class where guests will prepare the roast vegetables before returning to the Watervale Hotel to put the veggies in the oven. Guests will then observe a salad making demonstration. Finally, Nicola will serve a late lunch to all guests.
The lunch will be matched to outstanding examples of Clare Valley wines selected by Warrick Duthy. Mocktails, beer and other beverages will be available if preferred.
